This summer, I decided to grab my camera and visit as many local street festivals as I could. I love taking candid shots of people out enjoying themselves and there are hundreds of food, music and cultural celebrations here in Chicago every year. Accompanying me for a few of these adventures was my good buddy Mark Spence, a fellow photographer and a writer for Good Beer Hunting. His blog Beer is Offal is a gorgeous love letter to food, drink and travel. You should check it out: https://www.goodbeerhunting.com/beer-is-offal
Photo Walks with Tamarkin Camera
In the summer of 2017, I began accompanying groups of photographers around the River North and Downtown Areas of Chicago, as part of Tamarkin Camera’s “Artist Talk and Photo Walk” Series. (tamarkin.com) These were invaluable opportunities to shoot people in more heavily populated tourist areas, at the height of warm sunny days. The camaraderie of being in a group of shutterbugs and the experiences of having other like-minded individuals to bounce ideas off of has yielded some of my favorite results.
All images shot with either a Leica D-Lux 5 or a Leica D-Lux 6.
